Meals on Wheels has four paid full time
employees and one paid part time employee. A Registered
Dietician Consultant is also under contract with the program
to carry out Nutrition Screening on all Meals on Wheels
clients. Its Board of Directors is made up of 13 unpaid
members elected biennially by the eighty or so unpaid
volunteer drivers. Many of the board members are also
volunteer drivers.
Meals on Wheels volunteers are rewarded by the satisfaction of
assisting those who need and appreciate their services. Most
volunteers work 2 hours a week, make a round trip of 25 to 40
miles and deliver to 10 to 20 people.
